20 years of motorsport, 15 years for PRODIAXO Racing
Ward Sluys, an advertising and marketing man in daily life at his own company WS Lettering, in his spare time he is a racing driver of touring cars and GTs, a ‘hobby’ that got out of hand. ‘Many years ago I got in touch for the first time by a circuit baptism on the circuit of Zolder. Afterwards, for 12 years I had my own race team, after the 24h Zolder victory with Porsche, everything suddenly went fast and I became part of professional teams where I could develop myself into the experienced pilot that I am today’ said PRODIAXO rider Ward Sluys. ‘Of course there are also the financial sides to such a story outside the technical and sporting aspects. Thanks to PRODIAXO I was able to grow in motorsport and we have also been able to give PRODIAXO a commercial boost to become the top brand that it is today. In the last years we have brought PRODIAXO Racing to an estanlishes value in the National & International racing scene thanks to many victories. And in 2017 we the General Title in the SuperCarChallange. As PRODIAXO is a quality product, it is also a matter of reliable technology, quality, teamwork and drive, which make you one of the top players in motorsport.
‘That’s right, in the past I was already happy when we could experience the sport, that was already a difficult task given the expensive cost, now thanks to Prof Praxis and a few other partners, I could improve myself as a driver and each race weekend we spend many hours behind the PC with engineers to analyze everything and improve myself and the car to the top level. The drive and the challenge to do this give me so much satisfaction in achieving a nice result on the racetrack and that is always with the thought to give something back to the people who have been behind me for years and make this reality. Last year I won the much-desired BMW Trophy award as a Private BMW driver… That did something to me, because that is something I could only dream of.’
What will the future bring… Is there an age to stop with racing? ‘Well, I have asked that question a few times for myself’ laughs Ward. ‘It is greatly underestimated how heavy it is physically to drive a racing car, so as long as I can prepare myself physically and on top of that I will stay fast as a pilot and I can put on some nice performances, I will continue to get behind the wheel. Because this is a passion that I have a lot in common, and I feel that this keeps me young. But of course every year the total picture has to be correct to bring the flowers home as a Team! And that is what we are goind to do in 2017 as well.’
